There’s a new bank in town, but a staff filled with familiar faces should have customers feeling right at home in no time.

Community First National Bank opened its doors last week at 305 Sidney Baker South in the corner of the H-E-B South shopping center next to Domino’s Pizza. The bank off
ers a full range of banking services, from on-line banking to small business loans and a wide variety of deposit accounts.
With a lot of banks already in Kerrville, what does Community First have to offer?

“There are a lot of banking institutions in Kerrville that don’t have Kerrville as their primary focus,” bank director Kent McKinney said. “There’s room for a bank like us that makes decisions here and makes them quickly. We are very interested in reinvesting our deposits locally.“

McKinney is well known to the Kerrville area after serving as chairman of the Kerrville Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the boards of the Dietert Center and the Kerrville Public School Foundation, and is involved with various fundraising committees at Schreiner University. He has more than 40 years of banking experience in Kansas and Texas, including the last five years in Kerrville.

“We’re all about relationships and responsiveness and really knowing our customers,” McKinney said. “We think with our local decision making that we can be among the very best banks in town. We’re confident we can give high quality customer service.”

McKinney has assembled a staff that includes senior vice president Jeff Rhea, loan officer Justin Foster and lending support rep Letty Calderon, and new accounts representatives/tellers Crystal Shotwell and Javier Garza. All bring substantial banking experience to their new location.

“We’ve got a lot of staff experience,” McKinney said. “Jeff Rhea’s been in the business for 30 years or more, and I started 40 years ago in the business. All the help here has substantial experience too, so with the experience we have and the decisions being made right here in Kerrville, it’s a good recipe for customer satisfaction.”

Bank hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
